Your Files.
Your Keys.
Your Cloud.
Most cloud services can open every photo and document you upload. Sino locks them on your phone or PC first, then backs them up to the cloud accounts you already have. Your cloud stores them, but only you can open them.

Your cloud keeps a spare key to your files
Google Drive and most other cloud services can open what you store with them. They promise not to look, but a promise is not a lock. Sino adds the lock, and gives you the only key.
Like a storage unit where the front desk keeps a key
Uploading straight to the cloud is like renting a storage unit and leaving a spare key at the front desk. They promise not to look inside, but they hold the key, they can read the labels on your boxes, and they decide whether you are allowed in.
Like a safe you lock before it goes into storage
Sino puts a safe inside your own phone or computer. Your files are locked inside it first, and only then copied to your cloud. To the cloud company, every file, file name and folder name is scrambled data it cannot read.
Some files are too personal to leave readable by anyone but you.
Set it up once. It works in the background.
Your files are locked before they leave your device, so your cloud only ever receives scrambled data.
Choose what to protect
Pick folders to back up, like your Camera or Downloads, or move files straight into Sino's private Local Vault.
Sino encrypts on your device
Each file is locked with its own key before it leaves your phone or PC. Names and folders are scrambled too.
Copies go to your clouds
Google Drive, MEGA, any S3 storage or Azure: one or several at once, so one provider failing never costs you your files.
Open them anywhere
View files in Sino on your phone or PC. Lost your device? Your 24-word recovery phrase brings your vault back on a new one.
It feels like a normal gallery, only private
Once it is set up, you mostly forget it is there. Your photos back up, your files open, and nothing readable ever leaves your device.
Backs up on its own
New photos and files back up in the background, from any folder you pick, such as Camera, WhatsApp or Downloads. Choose Wi-Fi only or only while charging.
Background backupHidden from other apps
Move files into Sino and they disappear from your gallery and file manager. Keep a folder on this device only, or back it up to the clouds you pick.
Local VaultWatch without downloading
Play videos and open photos and documents straight from your vault. They are unlocked in memory only, so no readable copy is left behind.
VolatileStreamWorks with your usual apps
Your open vault shows up in the Android Files app or as a drive on Windows, so you can open and save files in the apps you already use.
Virtual driveOpens with your fingerprint or face
Unlock with your fingerprint, face or Windows Hello. Sino locks itself again when you stop using it.
IronCoreSearch everything, privately
Find any file instantly. Search runs on your device, inside its encrypted database, and nothing about it is sent to a cloud.
BlindSightUse the clouds you already have, or several at once
You wouldn’t keep all your money in one bank, so why keep all your files in one cloud? If a bank fails, you lose what was in it. With Sino, each cloud you choose holds a full copy, so losing one account costs you nothing. Sino sells no storage of its own; it works with your accounts, and the list keeps growing.
Built for the bad days, too
Backing up is the easy part. What matters is what happens when a phone goes missing, an account disappears or someone pressures you. Here is what Sino does in each case.
Your phone is lost or stolen
Lock it out from any of your other devices, and it erases Sino from itself the next time it connects. Then get your whole vault back on a new phone with your 24 words or a passkey.
Your cloud closes your account
Like not keeping all your savings in one bank: keep copies on several clouds at once. If one account is closed, hacked or full, your files are still on the others, and Sino repairs any copy that goes missing.
Someone forces you to unlock it
A second password opens a decoy vault that looks real. Sino can also disguise itself as a calculator, and on Android an emergency widget wipes the vault from your phone in one tap, while your cloud backups stay safe.
Something happens to you
Choose people who can receive your vault if you stop using Sino for 30 to 180 days, or hand it over whenever you decide. It is sealed in advance, so only their device can open it.
You forget your password
Your 24-word recovery phrase brings your vault back and lets you set a new password. We cannot reset it for you, and that is the point: nobody else can either.
Sino disappears one day
Your files do not depend on us. The open-source Sino Open SDK can decrypt your cloud backups with your 24 words, without the app.
Pay once. Keep your storage. Keep your privacy.
There is no Sino storage to rent, so there is nothing to subscribe to. You keep paying your cloud, or use the free space you already have.
Businesses subscribe to the Control Hub, which is still in development. Downloads · How it compares

What Sino can't do
No security tool protects against everything. These are the limits worth knowing before you rely on it.
If you lose every way back, so do we
Without your 24 words, your recovery passkey and every device that can unlock your vault, nobody can open it, including us. Write your 24 words down and keep them somewhere safe.
Spyware on your device
If malware is running on your phone or PC while Sino is open, it can see what you see. Keep your device updated and install apps only from sources you trust.
Files you take out of Sino
A file you export, share or save back to your gallery is an ordinary, readable file again.
Not independently audited yet
Sino has not had an outside security audit yet. Until it has, our security overview and the whitepaper explain exactly how it works.
